Join Scouts!
Scouting is about developing life skills, through an adventurous, challenging, and fun program for young people everywhere. Learn more about the benefits of Scouting here. We don't have set intake periods, you can join as a youth member or adult supporter at any time.
STEP ONE: CONTACT US
Choose a Scout Group to join based on location or meeting time, and get in touch directly. Alternatively contact the District team, and we'll put you in touch with a local Scout Group.

STEP TWO: TRY SCOUTING
Complete a prospective member form and attend 3 or 4 meetings of the relevant section (Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers or Rovers). This will allow the prospective member to get a feel for what Scouting is and decide if they wish to join.
Parents/guardians are welcome to stay throughout these meetings. The prospective member form covers contact details and basic medical information (this enables our adult leaders to fulfill their duty of care).
STEP THREE: SIGN UP
Notify the leaders that the prospective member wishes to join Scouts. The Group Leader will help you with this process, you will need to:
STEP FOUR: BE INVESTED
An investiture ceremony will mark their becoming a member of Scouting. During this occasion, they will affirm the Scout Promise and be presented with a Scout scarf and certain badges (provided by the Scout Group). Family and friends are welcome to attend this ceremony.

- Complete a registration form
- Pay a membership fee
(these fees cover insurance, maintenance of halls/campsites, equipment, achievement badges, etc. Leaders are volunteers, they do not get paid) - Buy a scout uniform
